Job Summary:
The Polymer Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving polymer-based materials and processes for various applications. This role involves conducting research, performing testing and analysis, and providing technical expertise in the field of polymer engineering. The Polymer Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of polymer-based products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop polymer-based materials, formulations, and compounds for specific applications.
2. Conduct research and analysis to identify innovative solutions to improve polymer materials and processes.
3. Perform testing and evaluation of polymer properties, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical characteristics.
4. Utilize engineering principles and tools to optimize polymer processing techniques and manufacturing processes.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to ensure the successful implementation of polymer-based products.
6. Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including troubleshooting and problem-solving related to polymer materials and processes.
7. Stay updated with the latest advancements and industry trends in polymer engineering and recommend applicable improvements to enhance product performance.
8. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate research findings and project progress.
9. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines in all polymer engineering activities.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of experiments, test results, and project-related documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in polymer engineering, preferably in the development of polymer-based materials and compounds.
3. Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, processing techniques, and characterization methods.
4. Proficient in using engineering software and tools for modeling, simulation, and analysis.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
6. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to polymer engineering.
10. Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
